Intruder , 5 v 5 Stealth Multiplayer FPS
Disclosure: This game copy was bought by the reviewer. I am also pretty bad at this game, so expect mostly Spectating and level exploration.
Rather unique multiplayer experience with 5 players sneaking into a base to retrieve a briefcase or hack terminals while five guards protect it. There are only a couple of weapons, but they provide much needed balance with the gadgets granting situational awareness triggers or target location assistance. It also utilizes distance based radio communication and hand gestures to allow visual communication aid. Energy and balance also play a roll in game-play, affecting weapon aim and movement impairment.
The game runs surprisingly well with the simple graphics adding to the tension of telling allies/enemies apart (leading to accidental misfire without my glasses). I cannot test the communication feature due to my inability to speak, but the hand gestures have helped wonders in my later games as intruder. My only major concern is with the game being able to maintain a healthy player base, but the current 300+ concurrent players seem to be quite passionate and prone to goofing off (for better or worse). $20 bucks might be a bit much (there are a good selection of maps to play on, but official servers run the same 4 ones on repeat), but it is a solid multiplayer experience at the moment for those looking for a more balanced version of Rainbow Six: Siege (with less uniqueness and more stable servers).
