ii. There are a few reasons why there might be a big page 1 watermark in Excel.
* **You are in Page Break Preview.** Page Break Preview is a view in Excel that shows you where pages will break when you print your worksheet. In this view, a large "Page 1" watermark is displayed in the middle of the worksheet. To remove the watermark, simply switch back to Normal view.
* **You have a watermark applied to your worksheet.** You can apply a watermark to your worksheet to add a subtle background image or text. To remove a watermark, go to the Page Layout tab and click the Watermark button. In the Watermark dialog box, clear the Watermark checkbox and click OK.
* **You have a header or footer that includes the page number.** If you have a header or footer that includes the page number, it may appear as a watermark when you are in Page Break Preview.
iii. To turn off a watermark in Word, follow these steps:
1. Open the document that contains the watermark.
2. Go to the **Design** tab.
3. In the **Page Background** group, click the **Watermark** button.
4. In the **Watermark** menu, select **Remove Watermark**.
Here are some additional tips that may help you turn off a watermark in Word:
* If you can't find the **Watermark** button, make sure that the **Header & Footer Tools** are visible. To do this, click the **View** tab and then select the **Header & Footer Tools** check box in the **Show/Hide** group.
* If you've applied a watermark to your document and then saved it, you can still turn off the watermark by following the steps above. However, if you've already printed the document, the watermark will appear on the printed pages.
* You can also turn off a watermark by deleting the header or footer that contains the watermark. To do this, go to the **Header & Footer Tools** tab and then click the **Remove Header** or **Remove Footer** button.
iv. There is no shortcut key for watermark in Excel. You can apply a watermark to your worksheet by going to the **Page Layout** tab and clicking the **Watermark** button. In the **Watermark** dialog box, you can select from a variety of built-in watermarks, or you can type your own text watermark. Once you have selected a watermark, click **OK**.
If you want to remove a watermark, simply go back to the **Watermark** dialog box and clear the **Watermark** checkbox.
v. You can make the background transparent in Excel by following these steps:
1. Select the cells that you want to make transparent.
2. Click the **Format** menu.
3. Click **Cells**.

* You can also make the background of an entire worksheet transparent by following the steps above, but instead of selecting individual cells, select the entire worksheet by clicking the **Select All** button (the square box in the top-left corner of the worksheet).
* If you want to make the background of a picture or other object transparent, you can do so by following the steps above, but instead of selecting cells, select the picture or object.
* You can also make the background of a cell or object transparent by using the **Format Painter** tool.
