RePete - Level 4-16 (3-checkmark solution)
RePete (PC/Steam)
Version 1.2.2
Level 4-16
3-checkmark solution
RePete is a puzzle platformer where you play a guy named Pete... who can summon his past self, who will repeat every action Pete has made in the last 0-10 seconds (depending upon how long you record before summoning!)... after which the RePete will just stand there (until you summon another RePete to replace that one).
The object of each level is to activate and get to the exit, in order to move on to the next level. Simple, right? =) But the gameplay does become more complicated later, as more gameplay elements are gradually introduced (like buttons, switches, forcefields that block either Pete or RePete... and of course, the ability to use more than one RePete at a time (the number will be shown in the upper right corner of the screen)). Thus, while the early levels are pretty easy, the puzzles definitely become a lot more challenging later on... especially if you're trying for 3-checkmark solutions.
To earn 3 checkmarks on a level you need to:
1) Complete the level.
2) Finish the level under a certain time limit (the time counter in the corner will turn red when you've exceeded this time).
3) Get all 6 gems on the level (5 are needed to unlock the exit).
This video shows a 3-checkmark solution for Level 4-16, the last level in the game. This one took me a while to figure out, mostly because I was exploring the possibility that there might be something offscreen to the right that we were supposed to get a RePete to do (you can get a RePete to the other side of the gap by having him fall through the right side of the force field bridge). Getting a RePete to do something in an offscreen area we can't see... is something that hasn't been required in any previous level, but since this was the very last level of the game, I figured having to do something we haven't done before... could be a very real possibility.
As it turns out, I was right about having to do something we haven't done before... but it wasn't something on the other side of the gap, it was something on this side: the technique we need to use to press the button. =)
So anyway, if you're stuck on this level, or if you're just curious to see if I did anything differently than you did, this video shows the strategy I ended up using to get all 3 checkmarks. ^^
