Level 6-5 star!
So here's another of my all-time favorite puzzle platformers: Braid. =)
For those of you who aren't familiar with Braid, there's a secret challenge in the game (there's no trophy/achievement for it, and no other direct clues that it exists): Basically, there are 8 stars hidden throughout the game, and by collecting all 8, you can complete the constellation you see at the beginning of the game.
If you're interested in collecting all 8, a couple things you'll probably want to know:
- One of the stars will be impossible to collect if you've put together all of the jigsaw puzzles. So if you've already put the puzzles together (which gives you access to the final world), you will have to start a new game if you want to collect all 8 stars. =p
- One of the stars takes about 90 minutes (if I recall correctly) to get. There's no way to speed this up, but if you set things up properly, you can simply leave the game running and come back later to collect the star.
- I think the 8th star can only be collected if you've already collected the other 7.
- The other 5 stars don't have any special restrictions (like the three above), though of course, some of them will be more difficult to collect than others.
This video shows a relatively simple way of collecting the star in Level 6-5. If you know what you're doing, the 6-5 star is actually one of the easier ones to collect... but if you don't, there's probably going to be a lot of rewinding and experimentation and failure and rewinding and experimentation and failure... I know there was for me when I was first figuring out how to reach that star. ^^;
Anyway, I was eventually able to figure out a relatively easy way of reaching the 6-5 star... so since I was planning on recording a Braid video for this channel milestone anyway, I figured this was as good a time as any to record it, both for my own benefit (in case I ever forget how it was done) and for yours (in case any of you are having trouble reaching the 6-5 star). Cavalcadence Milestone: 2 Years!
Wow, has it been two years already? It doesn't feel like a year has passed since the one-year milestone, but... apparently it has. =)
When I first started this channel, it was basically just a place for me to upload some Aubergine videos, since at that time, there... weren't many examples of decent Aubergine gameplay on youtube. ^^; I figured I'd probably upload some other videos of some other games I liked as well, from time to time.
If you'd told me back then that a mere two years later, my channel would have over 90 subscribers, over 290 videos, and over 60,000 views... I probably wouldn't have believed you. And yet here we are.
Other boring stats I wouldn't have believed:
36 videos with 250 or more views
19 videos with 500 or more views
11 videos with 1,000 or more views
1 video with over 10,000 views! :o
20 countries with 500 or more views
12 countries with 1,000 or more views
Over 195,000 minutes watched (that's over 4 months worth of time!)
And I know these numbers are really small, compared to... well, quite a number of people on youtube. =) But for me, just posting videos of games that I enjoy... well, I'm glad that you all seem to be enjoying them as well. =) And I know I'm not always good about replying to comments (apologies!)... but even if I don't reply promptly (or at all!), they are appreciated, and I definitely do read them all!
So... thank you all for the past two years... especially those of you who have been here practically since the beginning! =) I'm still having fun posting videos, and plan to continue to do so. So I guess in that sense, at least, not much has changed. =)
