Resetting the keyboard dictionary on your iPhone is helpful if you've noticed incorrect autocorrections or unwanted word suggestions appearing while typing. Over time, your iPhone learns from your typing habits and adds new words or corrections to the keyboard dictionary, including any mistakes or slang terms you've repeatedly used. Resetting the dictionary clears all of these custom entries and restores the keyboard's default word suggestions.

To reset the keyboard dictionary, begin by opening the Settings app on your iPhone. Once you're in Settings, scroll down and tap on General. From the General menu, scroll to the very bottom and tap on Transfer or Reset iPhone. On the next screen, tap the Reset option to bring up a list of available reset actions.

In the list that appears, tap on Reset Keyboard Dictionary. If you have a device passcode set up, you'll be prompted to enter it for confirmation. After confirming, your iPhone will reset the dictionary to its original state. This action cannot be undone, so any previously learned words or typing habits will be lost.

Resetting the keyboard dictionary does not remove your keyboard preferences or settings like auto-correction or predictive text. It only removes learned words and custom typing data. If you're experiencing frustrating autocorrections, or if your iPhone keeps suggesting outdated or incorrect terms, this reset can help improve typing accuracy.

Once the reset is complete, your keyboard will behave as it did when you first set up the device, learning only from future input.
