My Review of RESIDENT EVIL 6: Great, 8/10
RESIDENT EVIL 6 is the most ambitious of all RESIDENT EVIL games with a huge development budget & a 3 story campaign, plus another one with Ada Wong unlocked after completion of all 3, but didn't meet critics & sales expectations, leaving the fanbase divided, half of them dissapointed. RESIDENT EVIL 6 have some of the best graphics in the serie, great lightning effects, good use of shadows, great atmosphere with lots of different & interesting locations, good cinematics & action set pieces. This game got the greatest gameplay of the franchise in terms of character controls: you can run & gun, roll, crouch, ramp, jump back, slide, punch & kick. Good variety of zombies & Bow, some of them very aggressive & fast moving. But where did it go wrong?
Well, lots of things didn't work out: distance to reach indicated on the screen, icon button of action to perform too big on the screen, Ammo & health barre menu on screen too big & flashy, over use of Quicktime events that put you out of the game & causing lots of unnecessary deaths, enemies dropping items when killed, annoying sound when picking up objects & items, wrestling moves to kill zombies, lack of blood & gore, omnipresence of the generic music, etc... RESIDENT EVIL 6 is a great game with good characters and average story trying too hard to please all the different hardcore gamers on the planet & convince them to join the franchise.
What Capcom will reserve us for the next installment ??
