this video explores Diddy's past, but we also discuss that recent artwork shows that Diddy Kong is alive and will eventually return. Many fans were afraid that Nintendo might stop using the character...but that doesn't seem to be the case. But will he be in the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 game Donkey Kong Bananza?
We discuss his origins in 1994 when Donkey Kong Country came out for SNES in this retrospective video essay. The DKC trilogy was developed by RARE and they were the ones who created Diddy Kong, not Shigeru Miyamoto. Let's remember David Wise composed Aquatic Ambiance and it reminds us all of Diddy Kong! He was the main character in Donkey Kong Country 2 Diddy's Kong Quest and also in the N64 game Diddy Kong Racing. He would appear in many other games like Donkey Kong 64 for the N64, Donkey Kong Land, and Donkey Kong Country Returns for Wii and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for Wii U. He has appeared in Super Mario Spin off titles like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros series. He also starred in the Donkey Kong 90s Animated TV Show and the recent Super Mario Bros movie.
We know Cranky Kong will be in the new game, so Diddy Kong could also return. I hope we also see Chunky, Tiny Kong, Funky Kong, King K. Rool etc. The future looks bright for Diddy.
