A video playthrough of my PC port of Volition's Red Faction PS2 demo from early 2001. This demo was shipped out to fans on a standalone PS2 disc (and included in some PS2 demo disc collections) prior to the PS2 release of the game and contains a short single player campaign full of cut content. I'll be uploading another video in the near future analyzing the changes between this PS2 demo and the PS2/PC full releases.
Map 1: A guard training facility where you use a rocket turret to destroy the environment and mow down waves of guards determined to end your rampage.
Map 2: A icy submarine bay with a miner warming his hands over a flaming oil drum and an icy tunnel with an enemy submarine and beta version of the sea creature enemy.
Map 3: A beta version of L3S4 - a stroll through an Ultor docking facility ending with a battle against a massive Ultor drone.
Highlights:
- 2 maps which never appeared in the final game at all, and a beta version of 1 map which did
- Voice lines from Hendrix, the PA Announcer, and Ultor guards prior to their voice actors being finalized
- Animations, textures, and meshes that were cut from the final game
