A brief play (with review/commentary) of Attack of the Mutant Camels, the 1983 classic by Jeff Minter. This gameplay footage was captured under emulation with VICE 2.4 running on Mac OS X.

As an early C64 title, there's not much to be impressed in terms of graphics & sound (especially when you compare it to the later Atari 8-bit conversion), but there is still an incredible charm to this game. From the tight controls, to the pure gameplay - it's the perfect thing for when you just want a game to relax with.

One bit of trivia I forgot to highlight - in the US, the name was attached to Matrix (the Gridrunner sequel) by HES, with this being retitled "Advance of the Mega Camels". To be honest, I'm not sure it has the same ring to it ;)

Also, if you want to try it out for yourself, you can grab it from the Llamasoft archive at: http://www.llamasoftarchive.org
