Rob Plays "Stellar 7" (C64)
36A brief play (with commentary) of Stellar 7, a 1983 release by Penguin Software and developed by Dynamix (originally for the Apple II).
I never actually played this original edition of the game back in the day - the first time I heard about Stellar 7 was via the remake released on the PC around 1990. So when I did discover that said version was a remake, and the original game was brought to the C64, I had to check it out.
It's a good take on the formula established by Battlezone, by expanding the general arcade gameplay into something with a little more tactical thought required. What does surprise me is that it actually runs pretty well - especially for a 1983 game, as 3D games on the C64 tended to not be the best fit for the hardware.
