The announcement was made in the London Arena by the six remaining members of the group after the end of their “S Club United” tour.

The group was manufactured by Legendary manager and the creator “Pop Idol”, Simon Fuller, after the Spice Girls fired him as their manager in 1997.

From 1999 until 2003 they had no fewer than 11 top 10 hits in the UK and sold 11 million records worldwide.

Since the breakup they have not done as well although Rachel Stevens did have a brief moment of success with her first solo album.

Members of the group had blamed Simon Fuller for their often dire financial straits because according to them he owns the Brand and makes most of the cash and the members are merely “affiliates”.

These financial issues and the creative and personal differences that had emerged between group members appear to have been cleared up because the whole group started working together again around 2014 and were in the process of launching a 25th anniversary reunion tour

But these plans suffered a major setback when Paul Cattermole, the first member to leave the group in 2002, was found dead in his home on April 6th 2023.

The cause of his death has not been revealed but was declared unsuspicious and S Club will be touring in October
