I went back to a Manual Save where Video #160 ended, meaning 161-163 are not part of the timeline in my continuing Game. My last effort to get Strider to join us ended in failure with 2 Monolith killed and him wounded. This video starts back in Yanov Station where I am in the basement going through my stash trying to decide what to take for the journey through the Pripyat Underground.

As it has been many, many years since I have done the Pripyat Underground in Call of Chernobyl, my memory of all the intricate details escapes me and leaves me with apprehension. For that reason, I went to the Stalker Wiki to read up on what lies ahead. Doing something I've never done before, I found a list of all the supplies that can be found in the whole trip. Why? I wanted to reduce what I had taken ( pre-load out ) in the past, since I always ended up finding more supplies than I could carry. I learned long ago you don't actually have to wear the SEVA suit, which is a real turn in Call of Pripyat. GSC purposely did NOT give it any night vision so that wearing and using it would make the journey scarier and more difficult having the Player only have his headlamp to see in the dark.

Having to carry the SEVA suit means I have 10kg of dead weight. I wanted to see just how much ammo I can find in the Pripyat Underground. Adding up all the ammo that can be found, it comes out to 540 rounds of 5.45, 600 rounds of 5.56, 70 rounds of 12 x 70, 110 rounds of 7.62 x 54 and 150 rounds of 9 x 39. There are more ammo types but those I'm not interested in. The next step in my decision process is what additional weapon do I take? My GP-37 for using the 600 rounds? A Vintar BC, SVD or SVU all having a better scope but all having small magazines and slower firing rates? Without Strider and his SVU, I have no marksman for taking out those difficult Monolith snipers at the Dome. Since all those weapons have less ammo to find and use, I opt for adding the GP-37 and reduce both the 5.45 & 5.56 I am loading up on at Yanov Station. I will need to find all the ammo in the Underground that I can.

After a short test of the GP-37 scope compared to the AN-94 ( called AC-96/2 in the Games ) on a Controller that was walking by outside, I soon complete my load out and then go to Zulu's Tower and talk to Vano and Sokolov to make sure they are ready. It's frustrating that I can't talk to them and trade. I could get them to buy a lot of supplies from me, once I gave them enough cash and then buy it back later when we arrive in Pripyat. That's a great feature for your Companions in Call of Chernobyl. But this is Call of Pripyat and the best I can do is drop some better weapons against them and hope they pick them up.

I'm going to record the Pripyat Underground journey in segments. This first video is the elevator ride into the first chamber. After securing the chamber, I then go about and find all the supplies out in the open or semi-hidden before leaving. This video ends right before I press the button to open up the next chamber where the poisonous gas is. I will need to put on my Meat Chunk artifact and take the drugs to give me chemical protection. Each chamber gets more difficult as the journey progresses.
