Going out again, I decide to avoid the mutant area on the boulevard by cutting through the Apartment Complex and passing through another building south-west of it, I find some anomalies in the front lobby, and I go up the stairs where I discover a stash of ammo and grenades above the threshold. South of it I hear some dogs and I jump up on a truck to get a better look and I find out it's actually Pseudodogs. There is a unusual shaped building they are hanging out by and going inside I find another stash of an SPSA-14 shotgun and slugs ammo.

Leaving there I go back north a way through the trees and see a large pack of mutant Dogs in front of the Department Store, which is the destination of this trip. I clear them out using my scoped AN-94 and move in for the last few with my Eliminator. I'm very aware of my dwindling ammo supply and need to find more stashes and be very careful that I'm only using it on mutants that are in my way. In other words, don't waste ammo just to kill mutants if I can go around or avoid them.

Going inside the Department Store, I find some double doors that open that lead to a maze of back rooms with many doors. Luckily all the rodents I come across seem to be facing doors to surprise whoever opens them and I'm coming up behind them. I clear out all the rooms and in the last one I find some stairs going to a cellar. There on a table I find the third tier Calibration Tools. This is one of two sets that is to be found in Pripyat. I would like to find the other set before I take that mission with the Military to go after the Monolith secret weapon. As best as I can remember, after it, the way back to Jupiter and Zaton is opened, and I would like to return with boot tool sets.

Inside the cellar, I find another room with a ladder that descends even further. It is a dangerous two-level sub-basement. The upper level has a moving fire Poltergeist with a chain link fence floor with many gaps in it. The bottom floor level has chemical or Burnt Fuzz anomalies that are very deadly. I go down to the lowest level and do my best to work my way through the Anomaly field, where I recover a valuable Bubble artifact. I go down to the other end seeing another ladder going up to the upper level, and then continuing upward to a location that is obviously beyond the floorplan of the Department Store.

I should be ready to exit here but I have a nagging memory of a hard-to-get stash embedded in the chain link floor. I go back and forth from the corrosive floor, taking more antidote and having my Meat Chunk artifact equipped. I even go back to the dangerous upper floor having to dodge the moving fire Poltergeist, but I don't have any luck finding what I thought was here. I eventually go back up the ladder to the small room in the basement where I first found the ladder to the sub-basement and concerned that this video was running too long, I end the recording. The next video will pick up where this one left off.
