S T A L K E R: Call of Pripyat - ( 2022 ) Video #168: Pripyat Underground - Monolith Battle
This video starts right as I'm up on the platform ready to pull the switch to activate power to the vault door of the control room. However, after surviving the attack of the Monolith in the previous video where Sokolov gets killed, I realize I'm way too heavy to be moving around fighting and way too heavy to do any looting afterward. So, I do what I should have done earlier. I go back to the stash chest where I had found the extra non-upgraded SEVA suit, and I start dumping all the excess supplies I had been carrying around up to this point.
I find out I can actually remove the upgraded SEVA suit I had been carrying. That's 10kg of weight removed right there. I stash all the ammo I don't need or don't have the weapons for, and I trim down all the needed supplies to a more manageable load out. This is roughly 20kg less weight than where I was at the beginning of this video. Then I go back to the switch and now I am ready for the Monolith attack.
The first try goes badly. I'm doing my best to toss grenades and duck behind cover, but I guess I did a poor job and may not have been watching my health as well as I needed to. In other words, I am killed. I load my new Manual Save at the activation point with me weighing less and try again. It goes quite well, and we defeat all the Monolith with no member of my team killed or wounded. I go out and loot all the dead, leaving all their weapons on them. I did not see the Vintar BC this time among the dead, so I'm assuming one of my team may have grabbed it. No matter. I am happy with this outcome, and I take all the excess loot and further add to the stash in the small room on the side of the main control room, including the two OG-7V that I will leave the Pripyat Underground with.
I'm not real certain I can leave behind my upgraded SEVA suit at this point. There may be more gas in the next Chamber with the Zombies. To be safe I will take it. After stashing my excess supplies, I go back to the control room and find the entrance vault door open. I find a few medkits and bandages on the bottom floor and I take the staircase to the top. There's another vault door I need to open but I decided to stop recording there for now. I will continue from this point in the next video.
