S T A L K E R: Call of Pripyat - ( 2022 ) Video #167: Pripyat Underground - Chamber 4
Chamber 4 is the Dome. It is the largest area of the Pripyat Underground. The doors open to find it seemingly empty except for the first swarm of snorks and then mainly dealing with a few rodents. There is time to explore every nook and cranny and find a few supplies. There is a Jellyfish artifact that shows up on your Detector. A small room on the same side of the Dome has a chest with a brand new SEVA suit. However, that's 10kg of dead weight at this point. As I'm already near my 70kg limit, I have little room for loot and even though I find the 2 OG-7V on top of a container on the opposite side of the Dome, I will leave that for grabbing when I leave and drinking Hercules to haul it out.
My team and I look over everywhere, finding a control building with a locked door and a vault door on the opposite side of where we entered that must be the way out eventually. However, there is a message that they are unpowered which means finding a way to restore power to these doors. There is a platform near the back that I climb and activate a switch. However, this action makes a large Monolith squad or company come out of hiding and attack us, from the same side where the OG-7V is placed, opposite side of the Dome from the control room.
The frustrating and yet good thing about Call of Pripyat is earning the different Achievements makes your Games quite different depending on the supplies the Traders will sell you. Get Friend of Freedom or Friend of Duty and you get exclusive items like rifle scopes, rifle grenades, armors and ammo unique to the corresponding Faction. The item I miss the most is being able to buy is the VOG-25 grenade to launch from my AN-94. I'm a very good shot with this after years and years of practice. I'm not a very good grenade thrower as it seems the arc of travel is too variable and when they land, they can easily roll off target. I really, really need or miss these for using during the Monolith attack. In the past I've been so effective, the Monolith barely even get off a shot. In this video I do my best to throw F-1 grenades but unfortunately Sokolov is killed at the very end.
I had made a Manual Save right before the switch activation, so that is where I will attempt a more successful redo of the events of the Monolith attack and keep all my team alive. And this is only the first Monolith attack we are to face. There is more to come.
