Sabre versus Longsword sparring DOUBLE CENTRAL!
4Had a lovely spar with Issac, he's very recently picked up his first ever jacket, and now he's looking fantastic!
We thought we would have a play of Longsword versus Sabre.
Longsword definitely has a strength advantage in the bind, and from some positions it simply has better leverage.
But I was surprised at some of the blows I was able to deflect and parry with the Sabre.
A Common misconception about the longsword is that it's slower than single handed weapons. Not the case. They are very nimble and can change angles much quicker than a single hander in a lot of cases.
Very difficult to deal with!
Thankfully, due to the body mechanics required to use the longsword, I actually ended up having a better range advantage with the Sabre.
Definitely a fun match-up if you haven't tried it before.
