So for reasons unknown, I've been rather obsessed with Salt & Sanctuary lately. 2D Dark Souls-sorta gameplay is up my alley, even if I occasionally eat shit thanks to one mistake here or there, and it recently got an Enhanced mode alongside a number of fixes/changes with a new patch just a couple weeks ago at time of writing. I wanna get in on Salt & Sacrifice as it feels like they got the colour-balance a bit better on that one, but I'm still quite wary of the Epic Game Store, and would rather get a PS4 than download that client to my PC.
Any-dang-way, I've been clearing out the odd achievement here or there, and decided today was the time to properly kill The Unspeakable Deep. I played this on Enhanced mode, though admittedly I'm not sure how much that changes for this early encounter. This huge galoot isn't too tough to dodge around once you put some time into learning how they fight; the main problems (as one might expect from a "supposed-to-lose" fight) is its strength against any starting weapons and a comparatively large HP pool at 1000. It DOES drop some nice stuff when it dies though (even if I wasn't able to grab the cash...) in the form of two pearls and its waterlogged literature.
This is mostly just to show off to some friends that I done did the deed of demolishing dragon-Cthulhu. Though it's still amusing to me that not only does the Cleric have the best tools for beating 'em (healing AND three holy-page boosters), but this isn't the RAREST achievement of the game on Steam, because some folks lost track of a wandering sorcerer.
