Salvation Army Today - 11.27.2018 - Guinness World Record™ for the Largest Human Shield
The Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham, Alabama made history by setting a new record for the “Largest Human Salvation Army Shield” with a total of 394 participants. The event launched the start of a busy Christmas season. Participants wore red sweatshirts, and stood in the formation of The Salvation Army’s iconic Red Shield. An official Adjudicator from the Guinness Book of World Records™ was on site to judge the attempt and make the official announcement, welcoming The Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham into the Guinness Book of World Records™ family. “It was amazing to bring the community together for such a fun event, make history, and celebrate the launch of our Angel Tree and Red Kettle Season,” said Major Roger Glick, Birmingham Area Commander.
