It's currently challenging for scoped snipers to compete against infantry and carbine scout weapons. This is due to a very strong form of aim assist that is present in Battlefield 1, that being the auto rotation mechanic. Well the console community test environment seems to have reduced auto rotation at present. This heavily reduces the ease of use of infantry and carbine scouts. If this change comes to the full game, which it seems safe to assume it likely will to some extent, then scoped snipers could become the new kings of the scout class.
