This level is absolutely brutal. While you have a few monster encounters that could be considered troublesome, the most interesting thing about this mission is that most of your pain will come in the form of a nightmarish series of hazards that tend to instantly kill you. Save scumming normally would be logical, but of course we don't really do that here.

I appreciate the challenge this map has going for it. It is rare to find a map that feels like an absolute struggle to get through, so finding something like this is special. Going from rooms made mostly out of boxes with a few placed enemies to this, we can definitely see a lot more focus on the environment being a danger.

Granted, this map isn't perfect. Secrets do exist, which of course means I have more paranoia than usual to find them. It should be noted all the Secrets are relatively fair to find, which is almost necessary in a level like this where you really don't want to backtrack. Finding secrets in the corridor of death would make it a lot more tedious, so it is nice that nothing is too unfair, even if hidden areas at all in a level like this might not be the best route to take.

Speaking of the first portion of the level, it also is rather tight in ammo, which leads to strategy in regards to ammo conservation. As long as you axe the weaker stuff like Knights, it works out fine, and feels like a good balance. It is odd that the second half makes you a lot more powerful, though you find yourself struggling for ammo near the end due to an evil Shambler encounter.

The end is a bit confusing due to a bit of a confusing secret which is entirely useless in Single Player. There are a few gripes mentioned in the video I ended up finding out weren't exactly accurate. It is possible to return without using the secret by the Silver Key, you just need to time the jump and move quick. The Quad Damage at the end also can be gotten without taking too much damage, since only one of the Shamblers is alerted and moving quick means there is a pillar between you and it.

No mention of this level would be complete without the most evil part of all, that jump in the middle of the Corridor of Death. While we have had to do some platforming before, I think this takes the cake as one of the hardest jumps I have had to try to pull off (especially being mandatory to complete a level). While rough, I do have to say I like this type of challenge and feel it much better than the hidden object nightmares; it is direct, it just is a matter of executing things properly.
