I have decided to try out SEGA Genesis, or Mega Drive in Europe on Nintendo Switch Online, as there are some games on that system that you can play if you have the Expansion Pack for Nintendo Switch Online.
The game that I am playing for this video is Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which released in 1992 for the SEGA Genesis, or the Mega Drive as it's called outside of North America. This game is the sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog, which for some reason they put Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on Nintendo Switch Online and not the first game.
In this game, Sonic goes to stop Dr. Robotnik, or Dr. Eggman in the more recent Sonic games, from taking over the world with the Chaos Emeralds, and he teams up with Miles "Tails" Prower, who makes his first appearance in this game, in his adventure.
This game does have multiplayer, the second player will play as Tails, and it is a 2D side-scrolling platformer, and there are some secrets where if you collect enough rings, you can access the secret stage through a checkpoint which allows you to collect the Chaos Emeralds.
Like NES and SNES, you can hold down ZL and ZR to rewind back, which is very good if you fail on a level and you want to retry, and while I don't plan to play through all of the games, I attempt to see if I can get through all of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in this video, and I don't have any plans to collect every Chaos Emerald, so I will play as much as I can.
