Seijin Plays FFT 1.3034 Easytype, Part 22 : Golgorand Execution Site
Golgorand Execution Site is quite harder than most other battles. You have eight enemies, including Gafgarion, and your characters are separated into two groups. That's a pain.
There are two (female) archers, three monks, two time mages, and Gafgarion as a dark knight. The knights from vanilla were replaced with these monks.
I came in this battle with one set strategy in mind. This is one of the few battles where enemies start really close to you, which is perfect for the Ochu to use Bad Breath. This can definitely prove very helpful. I had Sara as a priest, because healing/raising might end up very important here, with summon magic secondary for its power and versatility (Golem, Fairy, Bahamut...). Ramza was a geomancer with white magic. I wasn't too sure what direction to take with Ramza. I initially wanted him to just be tanky (either a class like monk with Equip Armor, or a class that can use heavy armor by default), since Gafgarion always goes for Ramza, but I decided to go with some offense with status effects (the geomancy stuff) and healing capabilities. Seijin is a huge powerhouse with Draw Out, and I had The Man as a monk to use Chakra to heal MP and other basic support.
This battle can be difficult. But it ended up the complete opposite. I totally, utterly annihilated the opposition, it's not even funny. Why? I just got... lucky. Ramza giving status effects with Elemental, the Ochu's Bad Breath giving pretty much the deadliest status effects everytime. This is ridiculous, how one-sided this ended up being. What can I say? I got lucky. This was my first attempt at this battle, and I have hardly ever had so much one-sided luck on my side, except maybe that one time I beat the Izlude battle in my thief SCC. :p And yes, Gafgarion is one of the few "bosses" who is vulnerable to many status effects.
At the end, I spent a few minutes to get some crystals, as usual... except that I won the battle earlier than I wanted.
