Seijin Plays FFT 1.3034 Easytype, Part 24 : Inside of Lionel Castle
This was my very first attempt at this battle. And I was glad to see that it worked really well. The idea behind the bombs is obviously to self destruct in Queklain's face, doing damage at a steady pace, while my chemists revive them, and repeat until victory. The idea behind the chemists was to, obviously, revive the bombs, and also have an easy time with basic survival with the ranged healing/reviving. Equip Armor was there to boost survivability. (I had Magic Defend Up instead of Equip Armor on Ramza.)
My idea was this. Queklain's main attack is Bio 3, which does quite a bit of damage. So I bring Battle Skill to reduce his MA and make his Bio 3 inefficient. However, the lower his MA gets, the more he uses things like Loss (I think that's what it's called? The attack that confuses you.), which can also be quite annoying. But I thought of that already. My chemists have guns, so they can easily bring each other out of confusion by attacking from a distance for petty damage, triggering Auto Potion in the process.
Pros of this strategy
High survivability with Equip Armor and Auto Potion.
Can bring each other out of confusion with no trouble or danger, from a distance.
Reliable (albeit not that high) damage from the Bombs.
Cons of this strategy
Chemists don't really do damage.
Slow-paced and boring.
Can get screwed by Queklain's Zombie + Raise 2 strategy (because none of my chemists had learned Holy Water yet - it's otherwise a perfect setup to counter this strategy that Queklain sometimes uses.)
Does not use Throw Stone.
So basically... it works. I'm just thankful Queklain didn't use Zombie.
