This battle stretched far longer than it should have. But I want to make it clear that I INTENTIONALLY wanted to kill all of Zalmo's support first. Why? Because it's more fun to do that in assassination battles. Sometimes. I'll repeat that on many other assassination battles such as the fights with Izlude, Meliadoul and Zalmo 2.

In this battle, Alma is very very useful. She casts MBarrier left and right, and she has the MP for it. It's also useful to replenish her MP if it gets entirely used. Zalmo likes to cast Holy a lot, so it is handy to drain his MP if at all possible. I was ready to take care of that with Bizen Boat. I gave Concentrate to my ninja to counteract that pesky evasion on those lancers.

I gave Counter to my sage. Actually, I thought that the counter would trigger when attacked from an adjacent panel or two panels away (from spears). Turns out it has to be the exact same range of the weapon she had equipped, a book, so Counter won't trigger at all. Meh. Any expert FFT player watching this would notice that silly (I'll refrain from using the term "noob" :p) mistake of mine, but I didn't know until this battle.
