So in my opinion, the medieval chapter looked arguably better in classic. Some notable things:

~In general, the Classic version of this episode looked more cartoonish which helped to give it a stylized identity. This was changed entirely, and I'm really not sure why, but it makes the entire thing look bland and somewhat forgettable as a result.

~The Citadel in Classic was more dark and gloomy looking, which fit the general vibe a lot more with the music track. Something about the new lighting kinda ruins this vibe.

~The Land of the Damned had a snow effect in Classic that really made the level pop, HD doesn't have this and it kinda makes the level look less impressive.

~The Grand Cathedral looks entirely different in Classic, it's almost jarring, and is probably the biggest stylistic downgrade in the entire game.
