3It's high time I got around to this game. Serious Sam: The First Encounter. The beta of the new Fusion engine version was released on Steam - free to those that owned the prior versions - so I decided that this would be a perfect excuse to run through this classic meat-grinder FPS. Lots of arena combat in this one. Lots of enemies. Tight spaces. Big weapons. And I, like the idiot I am, am playing it on Hard. Not Serious, not Mental, just Hard. And I'm so bad at it. At least, so far. Health powerups and ammo are few and far between, usually only at the end of the arenas. This game expects you to power through hordes of enemies on one go for your rewards. While I do generally prefer more traditional level designs, this type of arena combat has its place. And it can be raw, chaotic fun. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
