Luke sits down this weekend to talk a little bit about the new spectre that is looming over the shoulder of not only game development but Windows software development on the whole in the form of Microsoft's new proposed Universal Windows Platform - or UWP. Luke talks about the similarities with Apple's model of total application control, a little bit about monopolies and how their plan probably won't work for games. He also talks about what it means for game development, the ramifications and the possible casualties that might result from its adoption.

All of the points discussed today are based on speculation and limited information, and intended as a conversation starter.

Serious Sunday is a freeform roundtable discussion between the members of the Level 0 NPCs, where a specific topic is pre-selected by the group to be explored and discussed at length. Each of the NPCs approach the topic from both the perspective of a seasoned, die-hard gamer, and as creators of games themselves. Part freeform review, part critical analysis, part video game book club, Serious Sunday is where the NPCs take a step back and take a moment to give a serious look at something that is important to the industry, or games in general.

Background footage is taken from Fallout 3 (Fallout: New Vegas - A Tale of Two Wastelands Mod).
Luke tried to record in vanilla Fallout 3, but the game kept crashing, so you get the uber modded version instead.
