Shadowrun Returns: Dead Man’s Switch Part 2: Welcome to Seattle
So, after taking years to create my character, we finally get into the game. You’ll notice that this game is very heavy with story and is very well written so, if my voice bothers you, I need to apologize now because you’ll be hearing quite a bit of it ruin the great writing. I do want to talk about the character creation screen before I forget; It allows you to pick from five different races and then you can play as seven different classes (that is if you include the option of picking your own levels instead of having a predetermine class). You can customize your character a little, but that simply means you change skin and hair color and what their hair looks like. You can also pick out different images to represent your character (I do believe that there is a small selection of pictures that are based off of your race and gender). It seems rather simple but I don’t really mind; I think my head would’ve exploded if there was a more complicated character sheet where you could skills and qualities etc. After creating our character, we get the main storyline for Dead Man’s Switch; we get contacted with an old friend ours who is talking to us through a Dead Man’s Switch (as a particular YouTube channel would say, roll credits). He tells us that, for whatever reason, he is dead and, if we can solve his murder case and figure out who did it, then he is paying us a fair share of money. They give us a small cut-scene of the last time we saw him but I’m fairly sure it was there just to introduce us to combat within the game and how it works.
