Part 3. This game is pretty darn fun. I like the fact it does something different than the others. First off, it goes back to being a metroidvania, rather than level based and I really appreciate that. You have an overworld and then dungeons with bosses. Super cool. Then in the dungeons you get your powers and instead of dancing to transform the transformations are worked in as movements. Which is really cool. So you dash for a moment and turn into a newt. You drill through rocks and become a gastropod. It's a cool mechanic. Then you get some side abilities, fusion dances, to help search for treasures from the genies and activate some objects. It's different from the other games and I'm not opposed to it because it allows for more nappy and fluid movement. And that is something I love in platformers. The graphics are also fantastic, I love the cartoon-ish look. They also added in animated cutscenes which is super cool. I just wish the voice acting was more prevalent, they randomly voice lines and it's jarring. I wish the whole game was voiced, at least for the big important parts. The world and the aesthetics of the tropical island all look great and work well. There's quite a variety. Some of the bosses were less than stellar. I did not enjoy the Tubeworm Siren. I also think that they really need to limit healing more. You have way too many options to just brute force fights and heal your way through. you don't have to play that way, but it's silly easy. I do love the fact that the magic items still play a role and can be very very useful. I do wish they had markers on the map and that the map could indicate that you cleared it out. Other than that, this game was pretty fun/ Enjoy my blind playthrough.
