Shien's Revenge (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Vic Tokai's 1994 Super NES ninja-themed light gun shooter, Shien's Revenge.
Played through on the default difficulty level. Playing on the harder level will give you a credit roll at the end, but I couldn't bring myself to play this so much as to beat it there. It's already extremely difficult as it is, and the ending is the same on all levels. The game supports the SuperScope (not really ideal) and the mouse (extremely good option), but I find playing with the gamepad to be the easiest way, so that's what I'm using here.
This is a game that gets zero love - outside of hardcore fans and collectors, I don't think many people even know it exists. It's a really cool concept (think Shinobi's bonus levels) where you stab dudes and fling shurikens. It's also got some pretty odd setups - like the entire level where the 17th century Ninja battles Nazis. Seriously.
I wouldn't call it a classic, but it's certainly a fun novelty.
