This is the first part of my Playthrough of shining in the darkness a Sega Genesis Game released 1991 in Japan and is the first game in the Shining series.
If you want to name the other two characters that join your party later on you can move the cursor back to the letter pad once you have entered the fifth letter in the main characters name.
In the first part the basic story is laid out and I get started leveling in order not to get demolished by the foes only a short walk away from the starting point.
The early enemies seen in this part are:
Slimy Ooze: the weakest enemy in the game and with the short sword it is always a one hit kill though forgoing any armour upgrades they will be hitting you for either one to two hp per hit to reduce the trips needed to town hope it's only 1 as they will sometimes go before you in combat and can be in a group of up to three.
Cave Slugs are mostly the same as Oozes though they have a single point more hp and defence which might let them survive your attacks if you didn't grab the short sword at the blacksmith.
Pit Worms are the most durable enemy in the starting area having up to four hp more than the Slimy Ooze and not giving any more exp than it.
