This video demonstrates Kihon Ippon #4 for Jodan (Stepping Forward Face Punch) in Shotokan Karate. The offense is the same as it was previously, but the defense is significantly different than the first three.
An X-like block is performed, while stepping back with one leg. Following this sequence, you will use one hand to hold your opponent’s arm out of the way, perform a roundhouse kick to their abdomen, and follow up with an elbow strike.
