Part of me has always found it to be unsatisfying that seemingly prestigious character classes can be accessed at level 1. It brings up the question what first level is anyway. His first level when you're still learning? Like a squire? Should something as prestigious and as important as a paladin ever have a level one character among its ranks? Let's take a look at this in the context of Dungeons and Dragons and other roleplaying games.
