Reviewing how well a Raspberry Pi can play BluRay, HD1080, HD720, DVD, and low resolution movies. Can this £30 device really rival more a expensive purpose built Media Player or even a very expensive custom built Home Theatre PC (HTPC)
Or it will fail and be unable to play the most basic of videos?

For this video I used Raspbmc http://www.raspbmc.com
It was easy to copy on to an SD Card, and with the included auto setup meant there was very little to tweak in XBMC.
I compare how well six different files can play off my NAS:
35GB BluRay quality movie in .m2ts format
12GB HD 1080 quality movie in .mkv format
2.5GB HD 720 animation in .mkv format
3GB DVD quality movie in .mp4 format
15MB 240P music video in .webm format
28MB 240P music video in .mkv format
