Shriekwing Raid Guide - Normal/Heroic Shriekwing Castle Nathria Boss Guide

Shriekwing is a raid boss in the Castle Nathria raid of Shadowlands.This Shriekwing boss guide will show you the Shriekwing abilities that you'll see in the Normal, Heroic and LFR versions of the Shriekwing fight. Mythic Shriekwing has additional mechanics not shown in this Normal and Heroic Shriekwing guide. Footage of Shriekwing for this boss guide is from PTR raid testing and some mechanics may look different or see a name change when the Castle Nathria raid releases on live servers starting December 8th.
The key to Shriekwing is positioning. In melee, it's helpful to sidestep when Shriekwing aims Blind Swipe in your direction- it won't end your life, but it also won't end your damage. The Blind Swipe cone only projects out about twelve yards from Shriekwing, so the ranged don't need to worry about it. They do need to worry about Echolocation- any player targeted by Echolocation needs to run their debuff out of the group (and away from pillars), preferably dropping it near the edge of the room.
When Shriekwing begins to cast Earsplitting Shriek, everyone needs to stack up tight behind a pillar to line of sight the cast. If you don't, Earsplitting Shriek will do massive damage to you. After it goes out, everyone drops a pool so move from the stack point. Tanks have time to stack behind the pillar with the raid as long as they weren't tanking crazy far away. If it's more convenient and they can easily survive, they could stay out.
When Shriekwing reaches 100 energy, she'll cast her Blood Shroud and begin rampaging around. She does not need to be tanked in this phase. Everyone needs to avoid her, if you get within 12 yards of Shriekwing during this phase you'll instantly die. There will be Echoing Sonar echoes to dodge, and getting clipped by them will trigger AOE as well as dropping pools so staying on your toes and avoiding echoes is important. Her energy will be draining as she roams about, and when it runs out you're back to phase one.
On Heroic, Shriekwing will also generate echoes to dodge in Phase One using her Echoing Screech. She aims those in a general direction and some raids may find clever positioning and raid-wide moves can avoid the need to dodge these- however, considering that Shriekwing is the first boss in the Castle Nathria raid, it's likely that she's tuned so easy that it won't matter greatly.
