Sigourney Weaver Confirms The Mandalorian Movie Will Have Pedro Pascal in It
Pedro Pascal’s involvement in The Mandalorian and Grogu has finally been clarified by one of the biggest stars in the 2026 Star Wars movie. The Mandalorian and Grogu has been set for release on May 22, 2026, and it will pick up after the events of the first three seasons of The Mandalorian, which are all streaming on Disney+. One of the stars confirmed to have a role in the film is Sigourney Weaver, the sci-fi veteran, beloved for her roles in the Avatar and Alien franchises.
Collider’s Steve Weintraub recently caught up with Weaver at the Toronto International Film Festival to chat about her new project, Dust Bunny, and they stumbled onto the topic of Star Wars. After briefly going back and forth about whether The Mandalorian and Grogu has the chops to stand up with Andor, to which Weaver said, “It won’t be as good as The Mandalorian [and Grogu], just letting you know.” She continued by confirming that “it’s a different world.” Both projects may be set within the Star Wars universe, but Andor tackles much heavier themes of political corruption and fascism.
Weintraub further highlighted the differences between a show like Andor and a film like The Mandalorian and Grogu, saying the former is “dealing with deadly serious stuff” and the latter is “a fun time at the movies.” She wasn’t so quick to agree, closing out by saying, “Well, let’s see, shall we? I’m sure it will be at least that. And it will have Pedro Pascal.” This puts to bed a long-standing rumor that Pedro Pascal was not involved in The Mandalorian and Grogu, and confirms that The Fantastic Four: First Steps star will be back in the 2026 Star Wars extravaganza.
