Silent Hill: Homecoming - skip (most of) Hell Descent
8The fact that you descend during most of this level proved to be its undoing...
Right as you enter nightmare world, run a few steps to the corridor leading out of the doll room. Breach its right side, and you have a chance to land directly into the last part of the level, the corridor past the fan puzzle. The graphics aren't loaded, so you have to keep running forward a bit in complete blindness... fortunately the route isn't too hard, just down one ladder and onward one corridor. (however, I edited the footage here because I still didn't find the save quickly and elegantly enough.)
There's a save point ahead. You can save and reload, after which everything works out like normal, which is recommended. You can also keep pushing forward in near-complete blindness and witness the unloaded special effects failure. However, I'm not entirely sure you can beat the boss this way, that is, if you don't reload first. When I attempted, it seemed like I couldn't get into the second phase of the fight, the QTE prompt simply didn't want to appear.
