Skyrim 100% Maximized Legendary Playthrough - 235. The Heart of Dibella
While we've pretty much reached the apex of character power already, there are still a couple of permanent active effects we can gather that would make us just that much more powerful, so that's what we set out to do today. We're off to do The Heart of Dibella, which results in the Agent of Dibella effect, granting 10% more combat damage against enemies of the opposite sex. This is where playing a female character would really pay off, since the majority of enemies in the game are male, but we'll still get some use out of it.
So we head to Markarth where the first order of business is finishing Degaine's quest to steal the statue in the Temple of Dibella. With our stealth skills we can trivially do this without getting caught, but oddly getting this quest relies on you getting caught. We first return the statue to Degaine, then head back to the temple to deliberately get caught so we can start the quest.
From there it's off to Karthwasten to talk to Enmon, whose little girl is the next Sybil of Dibella, but who has also conveniently been kidnapped by Forsworn. You have the option in this quest of letting Enmon come along. It usually isn't wise, since he can die to Forsworn pretty easily, but we let him tag along to deliberately up the difficulty.
Fortunately Broken Tower Redoubt is not that far from Karthwasten. On the way there we encounter a Thalmor patrol, and you'd better believe that from now on we're going to be picking a fight with every one of these we come across. Once we reduce the population of racist elves a bit we arrive at the tower. Things are going fine until Enmon walks into a pressure plate trap and gets a spiked door to the face. Unfortunately we hadn't saved since arriving at the tower, so we have to reload and start the whole thing over.
The rest is an exercise in fumigating the place of Forsworn, which is mildly complicated by the structure of the place - having two exterior battlements on different levels. In the end though we rescue Fjotra. We head back to Karthwasten as normally she has a goodbye dialogue with her parents, but apparently if you let Enmon tag along the dialogue they have when you rescue her takes its place. In any case we return her to the temple and claim our reward.
Killing the leader of Broken Tower Redoubt was also the quest assigned to us by the jarl a long, long time ago, so while we're here we turn it in as well and get the next quest in his quest chain. Next time we'll head off to the frozen north to chase down another permanent effect to be had.
