Skyrim 100% Maximized Legendary Playthrough - 441. Exploring the Southern Pale Part 2
3Apologies for the video splice about 10 minutes in. My recording software just suddenly gave up the ghost for no discernable reason while I was playing. I think by this time though I've earned the right to splice video without anyone questioning the legitimacy of me playing on Legendary :)
We pick up from yesterday on the southern edge of the Pale where it borders Whiterun. We use the secondary location Mammoth Graveyard and the Loreius Farm right next to it as the southern edge of our exploration, Loreius Farm being the southernmost primary location belonging to the Pale. After clearing out both locations, we then work north along the road until it intersects the road running down from Fort Dunstad. We turn west to follow the road, and when we arrive back at the Fort we find it has already been occupied by the Stormcloaks.
We head south from the Fort, and while previously we had explored the western edge of the mountains to the southwest of it, now we work down the eastern side, following it until we come to our homestead of Heljarchen Hall. From there we head a short distance south back to the Mammoth Graveyard and we've traced out the borders of the area we're exploring today.
From here it's just a matter of filling in. We've already cleared the giant encampment of Blizzard Rest in the past, but the new primary location we check off here is the Weynon Stones, a small collection of standing stones with a shrine of Talos in them (and a couple of ice wraiths). The other secondary location we visit in this area is the Ice Shard Wild Animal Den at the base of the mountain to the west, where four wolves live underneath a rocky overhang.
We finish with a sort n' sell back home, and next time we'll return to this area and head north again, trying to manage the ill-defined eastern border between the Pale and Winterhold.
