Skyrim 100% Maximized Legendary Playthrough - 446. Exploring the Eastern Pale Part 4
1The biggest enemy in our video today are the poorly defined borders of the Pale. We pick up from the previous video finishing up the area we outlined in it, which is the area roughly bounded by the road, the mountains, Shimmermist Cave, and Korvanjund. We work our way back and forth east to west across the area, gradually moving north until we get back to Korvanjund.
From there it's a matter of divvying up the remaining area into manageable chunks. We start by working on the area south of the main Pale road over to Nightgate Inn. In this area are Shrouded Grove and Tumble Arch Pass, but we've already cleared these locations in the past. Once we've finished everything over to the path from the Nightgate Inn down to Irkingthand, we then continue working eastward along the shore of Lake Yorgrim. Here we come across the one new location in this video, a secondary location known as Yorgrim Forest Spider Trap, where several frostbite spiders wait in trees to drop down on the unwary seeking to loot a Dwarven chest in some rubble.
It's here where we make the decision to bite the bullet and finish this entire corner of the Pale. We choose as our eastern boundary the path leading up from Gallows Rock past Uttering Hills cave to the river. Both of those locations (which again we've already cleared) belong to Eastmarch, so we can be sure if we go this far we've finished the Pale.
We come across Raldbthar and its associated Blackreach Elevator, but we've already explored everything along the path here. So instead we veer east and explore several snowy valleys in between the mountains until we've finished everything over to the boundary we've set. We then work our way back west along the shore of the river and lake, and after a little more filling in, we're done.
We've got a little bit more to do on the north side of the lake, but the next video will see us finally finish up exploring the Pale for good.
