Skyrim 100% Maximized Legendary Playthrough - 450. Exploring Central Whiterun Part 2
3Continuing from our spot last time, we work our way back east towards Whiterun. Much like when we explored the western tundra, there are precious few landmarks in this area to help divide it up, so exploration largely consists of sweeping back and forth it in strips from east to west, trying to make sure we cover every patch of ground.
Ultimately we end up exploring everything west of the line running from Halted Stream Camp down to the Whiterun Smuggler's Den at the base of the mountain. We've already cleared the Camp before, but of course when we get close the respawned bandits want to make an issue of it, so we have to do it again. Then when we arrive at the Smuggler's Den I forget that once you clear out the initial bandits, a new group of bandits spawn and return to the camp while you're clearing it out. Not that it makes a ton of difference, overpowered as we are.
Whiterun Smuggler's Den is one of two secondary locations we check off in this area. The other is The Lad of the Lake: Bleakwind Basin. This one is probably well known, being so close to Whiterun, but in a small pond east of Bleakwind Basin there is a skeletal arm holding a leveled sword - a reference to the Lady of the Lake from Arthurian legend.
The rest is just collecting ingredients and ores as we roam across the plain. Tomorrow we'll wrap up this area as we press eastward to the road that runs from Whiterun into the Pale.
