Skyrim 100% Maximized Legendary Playthrough - 454. Shimmermist Cave
3We begin this session by heading to Shimmermist Cave - a location we've thoroughly explored around, but never actually gone into. It's a Falmer hive, but thankfully a short one. Despite being short it still has two separate zones, but other than that there are no surprises here. We kill a lot of Falmer and Charuses and harvest a lot of mushrooms and egg sacs as usual. I suppose there is one surprise - at the end Dwarven architecture starts appearing, and the final boss is actual a Centurion. Not a problem for us, but a potentially nasty surprise the first time you explore the cave with a lower level character.
Day is dawning as we exit the cave, so it's back to exploration. We're now have our eyes firmly on the eastern reaches of Whiterun hold - the last remaining territory to explore. Heading back to the main intersection at Honningbrew Meadery, we cross the bridge and explore everything between the road and the river all the way down to Valtheim Towers. Now we try not to aggro the bandits there but it happens anyway. Normally we would just continue on our way until they de-aggro, but Meeko is thirsty for blood in a rather disturbing way and insists on charging in whenever an enemy appears, so we have to do the same and slaughter everyone there for the dozenth time.
We've already explored both Graywinter Watch and the Ritual Stone which lie in this area, so we leave them be. Next time we'll start working the south side of the road, which will include a couple of new locations.
