Previously, Davilas explored Ansilvund. There, he found the Forgemaster's Fingers, which he turned in to the chief of the Orc stronghold Narzulbur. In exchange, Davilas was named Orc-kin. He now has access to the Orcish strongholds around Skyrim. Now, Davilas will work on the last Daedric quest he has available, "The Cursed Tribe".

After resuming in Windhelm, Davilas is approached by a Courier that delivers a "Letter from a Friend". When Davilas reads it, he takes on the objective "Find the source of power in Volskygge". This should lead to another Word of Power.

Davilas first heads home to Whiterun for some inventory management. For the upcoming quest, he also prepares by taking a Troll Fat and a Daedra Heart out of storage.

Davilas's destination to start "The Cursed Tribe" is Largashbur, an Orc stronghold in the mountains southwest of Riften in the Rift. To get there quickly, Davilas fast-travels to Heartwood Mill and then heads south.

When he reaches Largashbur, Davilas finds it under attack by a Giant. He must defeat the Giant, preferably before it kills any of the Orcs in the camp.

As Davilas approaches the entrance to Largashbur, one of the Orcs, Atub, speaks to him and explains the situation. She issues the quest "The Cursed Tribe" and asks Davilas to retrieve one Troll Fat and one Daedra Heart. She also tells him of Malacath, the Orcs' patron Daedric Lord. This is why Davilas acquired them, so he hands them over to Atub right away. Being Orc-kin makes it easier to enter the stronghold.

Inside Largashbur, Davilas follows Atub into the Largashbur Longhouse for some dialogue with Chief Yamarz.

Then, outside, Atub performs a ritual at the Shrine of Malacath. Displeased with Chief Yamarz, Malacath commands the Chief to bring the giants' leader's club as an offering.

Davilas speaks with Yamarz. The chief demands Davilas's help going after the giant. The giant resides in Fallowstone Cave northeast of Riften. Davilas must meet Yamarz there.

After this dialogue, Davilas fast-travels to the Riften Stables and then travels northeast to Fallowstone Cave.

At Fallowstone Cave, Yamarz leads the way in, and Davilas protects him as they traverse the cave. There are some Giants and Bears within. The Giants are fairly easy to avoid, but not the Bears.

At the far end of the cave, they take the exit to Giant's Grove. Davilas has two choices: let Yamarz pay him to kill the Giant or insist that Yamarz face the Giant himself. If Davilas tells Yamarz to face the Giant, the Giant will kill Yamarz quickly. So, Davilas takes the bribe.

Afterwards, Davilas faces the Giant. The Giant hits pretty hard, so watch out. Davilas finds Shagrol's Hammer on his body.

Unfortunately, Yamarz is not keen on the possibility of being revealed as a coward, so he attacks Davilas. So, either way, Yamarz must be killed.

After both the Giant and Yamarz are dead, Malacath speaks to Davilas. Davilas must now take Shagrol's Hammer back to Largashbur. Shagrol's Hammer is on the body of the Giant.

Afterwards, Davilas must backtrack through Fallowstone Cave. To exit quickly, he can turn left just after reentering the cave. A high path will lead him back towards the entrance. There is a locked chest along the way.

After backtracking through the cave, Davilas fast-travels to Largashbur. There, he talks to Atub to report the situation. Malacath commands Davilas to place Shagrol's Hammer upon the shrine.

Davilas examines the Shrine to Malacath to place Shagrol's Warhammer there. "The Cursed Tribe" complete! For acquiring 15 Daedric artifacts throughout the course of the game, the player earns the silver trophy "Oblivion Walker".

Afterwards, before doing anything else, be sure to take Volendrung from the Shrine to Malacath. Volendrung may no longer be on the altar if you leave the area and try to go back for it. It won't be gone, but it will be hard to find on the ground.

Next, Davilas will take on the objective "Find the Word of Power in Valthume". Valthume is a Nordic ruin southeast of Markarth in the Reach. To get there, Davilas fast-travels to Dushnikh Yal and then travels southeast. Having a horse makes the going a little easier through the mountainous countryside.

Davilas discovers Valthume. He will check out this Nordic ruin next time.
