Previously, Davilas did the Markarth quests "The Forsworn Conspiracy" and "No One Escapes Cidhna Mine". Now, he will work on another quest in Markarth.

After resuming, he heads into the Temple of Dibella. In the Inner Sanctum, he is approached by Hamal, who is unhappy about the intrusion. When he agrees to pay penance, she issues the quest "The Heart of Dibella". She wants him to find their next Sybil of Dibella, a young girl in the village of Karthwasten to the northeast.

To start on the way to Karthwasten, Davilas fast-travels to Kolskeggr Mine east of the city. Some Forsworn are there, and Davilas also runs afoul of a Blood Dragon.

Along the road to the northeast of Kolskeggr, Davilas discovers Blind Cliff Cave.

Before long, he finds the village of Karthwasten. There, he observes an altercation between Ainethach, the owner of the local mine, and Atar, a sellsword hired by the Silver-Bloods.

Davilas talks to Ainethach. He agrees to help get rid of Atar. This starts the objective "Convince Atar to leave Sauranach Mine". When Davilas asks about a young girl, Ainethach advises him to talk to Enmon.

Davilas enters Sanuarach Mine. There, he talks to Atar. One possible outcome is to convince Ainethach to sell, but I won't follow that course. Davilas can convince Atar to leave through persuasion, bribery, or intimidation. Davilas chooses bribery. Mercs love their money, don't they? Now, Davilas can "Tell Ainethach that Atar has been dealt with".

Outside, Davilas reports to Ainethach that Atar has been dealt with. Ainethach rewards Davilas with even more gold than Davilas paid Atar. This concludes Ainethach's objectives.

Now, for "The Heart of Dibella", Davilas talks to Enmon about the little girl. Enmon tells him that Forsworn abducted his daughter, Fjotra, and took her to Broken Tower. Enmon offers to go along, but Davilas convinces him that it is too dangerous.

Afterwards, Davilas follows the road east and across a bridge to Broken Tower Redoubt. Forsworn await both outside and inside the tower.

After taking out some of the outside Forsworn, Davilas explores the interior of Broken Tower Redoubt. There are some very dark spots within. Look out for traps. Some of the Forsworn here are powerful spellcasters.

Upstairs in the northeast tower, Davilas goes outside. Then, in the west tower, he finds the boss. The boss holds the Broken Tower Prison Key. There is also a Shrine of Dibella.

With the key, Davilas opens up the cell and frees Fjotra. Now, he can lead her to the Temple of Dibella in Markarth. Davilas also finds a copy of "Liminal Bridges", which increases Conjuration when read.

Davilas fast-travels back to Karthwasten. There, he talks to Enmon and reports that he has found his daughter.

Afterwards, Davilas fast-travels to Markarth. In the Temple of Dibella, he reports to Hamal in the Inner Sanctum. Fjotra leaves Davilas's party here. Hamal tells Davilas to pray at the altar.

Upstairs, Davilas prays at the Altar of Dibella. He acquires the Agent of Dibella active effect. Someone with this does more damage to a person of the opposite sex. "The Heart of Dibella" complete!

Next time, Davilas will wrap up most of the optional objectives available in Markarth.
