Slowbro's Walk-Off Homer - Pokémon TCG Live Online Matches #33
22As we continue to await the upcoming Prerelease Tournament for the next Pokémon TCG expansion, Fates Collide, we're continuing to look at a number of remaining cards of interest from BREAKpoint. This week, our focus is on Slowbro, with the incredibly awesomely-named Walk-Off Homer attack. This attack has the game breaking-sounding text that says if you use Walk-Off Homer when you have 1 Prize card remaining, you simply win the game right then and there. The attack name and effect are both too tempting for me to pass over without trying to pull this off at least once, so this week, I'll be taking one of my previous decks, the Creepy Shuriken, and tossing Slowbro into the mix. The Creepy Shuriken works well to score KOs and Prizes by having base set Greninja activate its Water Shuriken Ability from the Bench, which allows you to place 3 damage counters on an opposing Pokémon by discarding a Water Energy from hand, and having BREAKthrough's Gengar in the Active position using the Creep Show attack, which says if the opponent's Active Pokémon has 3 (or more) damage counters on them, that Pokémon is Knocked Out. It is a very powerful combo which can fell even the mightiest Wailord-EX holding a Fighting Fury Belt in a single turn, so it should be able to set up Slowbro quite nicely for us to pull off a game-winning Walk-Off Homer!
