SNES - Nintendo Switch Online Part 16: Pop'n TwinBee
1As of February 2020, some new SNES games were added to the Nintendo Switch Online gaming library, those games include Pop'n TwinBee and Smash Tennis.
Pop'n TwinBee was originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, and was developed by Konami and is the sixth game of the series. This game was never released in the US until 2020 on Nintendo Switch Online, so it was only available in both Europe and Japan.
In this game, you play as TwinBee, and when playing multiplayer, Player 1 controls TwinBee, the blue aircraft, and Player 2 controls WinBee, the pink aircraft. You attack by shooting at enemies, and you have a special move that can only be used a limited amount of times, where you can shoot replicas which fill up a lot of the screen and can destroy grounded enemies.
As for the plot of the game, TwinBee and WinBee hear from a girl named Madoka about her great-grandfather Dr. Mardock, who has lost control of himself, and it is up to TwinBee to restore Dr. Mardock back to his normal self. Like with the NES version of TwinBee, you can shoot clouds and some bells will appear, and shooting them will change the colour, and whichever colour you collect will give you a power-up, which can help out very well with different courses. Another good thing about this game is that if you get hit, it will not be an instant defeat, you have a health meter, and if you take damage, the health meter will decrease.
