So, About The Start of Greatness! - Metroid Zero Mission Retrospective
59In honor of Metroid Dread’s announcements I really wanted to play through Metroid 1-4 so here we are. I’ll be doing a series of these games and I hope these videos also help in getting you caught up so far. The big question though was which versions do I play? After a lot of searching around I finally settled on the following path. I’ll be opening with Metroid Zero Mission as it’s a remake of the first title. Following will be the AM2R fan mod because it seems to be a very close representation of Metroid 2 and Metroid 2 is actually the only Metroid title I’ve yet to play. Then obviously Super Metroid on the SNES and Metroid Fusion on the GBA since that’s the only platforms those are on. I’ll top off the series with a look at Metroid 2 Samus Returns if we have time since that gameplay style is clearly the inspiration for Metroid Dread.
So let’s start with the first game on that list, Metroid Zero Mission. Let’s go!
