Taking a 2nd look at the CRT OpenGL Shaders in DOSBox Staging. This time we look at the "fakelottes" shader. This shader has an aggressive "bubble" effect to emulate the rounded face of a traditional CRT tube that I'm not a huge fan of (especially when it's this aggressive) but it also has a softer image and a different pattern to the sub pixel detail (shadowmask?) that gives an almost warmer, more analog look to the presentation. I have to say I really like the way this one looks. My only wish would be that the bubble effect wasn't so strong. That said I did notice a modified version of this shader. Perhaps that's the difference? So many options! Too bad there isn't a quick menu to swap between shaders like there is in RetroArch.
