An unarmed soldier has captured one of the highest ranking Taliban bomb making experts to be taken prisoner by British forces after leaping from a vehicle to tackle what he thought was a suicide bomber. After a chase across the desert Private Lee Stephens grabbed him from the motorcycle. It happened after soldiers from B Company, 3rd Battalion the Mercian Regiment, had pushed into an insurgent hotspot to disrupt the enemy. They had just discovered an IED and secured the area when a motorcyclist was spotted as the fire team moved off across open ground.
