The skies over RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus have been turning red, white and blue as the Red Arrows prepare for a demanding schedule of displays. Every April and May the nine Hawk T1 aircraft traditionally build up to their season over the island. They have been in Cyprus for the last month, flying three sorties a day, five times a week. Flying in formation is a precise science and the pilots pull up to 8 Gs depending on the manoeuvres and the environment.
